Friday five

thien spent a lot of time outside this morning. i've let him poke around on the deck a little, but not for long. it makes me too nervous. oh, i know kitties can swim but i don't want to test this. besides i am concerned that there really isn't a spot for him to swim to and get back on board or on the piers. but this morning he got quite bold and hopped off the boat onto the finger pier exploring. he even took a stroll on my neighbor's boat. i finally bribed him in with some treats, but now he is running from window to window dying to get back outside. what cat wouldn't, with the ducks and birds mocking him from the water. i just know he is going to fall in eventually. i'm just not ready to deal with saving my drowning kitty.

anyway, here is the Friday five:

1. Where do you currently work?
in the nonprofit world.

2. How many other jobs have you had and where?
since starting my career? four. if you count little jobs in college...well, i don't count those.

3. What do you like best about your job?
making a difference... helping people living below or at the poverty line learn to become self-sufficient.

4. What do you like least about your job?
not being able to reach those who need help. dealing with red tape....

5. What is your dream job?
i love what i do now...
more of it perhaps, in more places....

wandering does not make you a "gypsy."
why would you call yourself
after those who have no home?
long skirts and hoop earrings
do not make you a "gypsy."
why do you call yourself after
those who have no clothes?

"gypsy" is pejorative. please don't perpetuate the stereotype. educate yourself on what it really means to be a "gypsy" in this world.
