i know, right? my thesis would be about 50 pages shorter and likely done if i hadn't been handed journal articles from com members! i added 12 pages last week just on an additional lit review!!

i just this afternoon boiled about four pages of verbiage down to three paragraphs, about half a page.

It freaks me out because, even though that motherfucker is now AIR TIGHT, part of me wants it to be LOOOONGER lol.

are you page limited?
i wish they would limit ours..they expect around 150 pages which makes it very difficult to turn around and pare it down for publication.

Nope, no page limitations. Just a thesis supervisor whose mantra is "eliminate all unneccessary verbiage" lol.

And a second reader on the committee saying "it's too short."

It's all I can do not to holler back at him "no you're what's 'too short' motherfucker" hahahahaha!

wow...sucks not to have your committee on the same page, especially on something as trivial as length. :(

i may have asked, but forgot...when do you defend?

i am both blessed and cursed because no one knows a damn thing about my topic so while i lack the feedback about certain assumptions that may or may not be way off, i'm not criticized for making them! my poor chair is actually going out of his way to learn my topic. it is his enthusiasm that keeps me rocking and rolling even on my most frustrating days!

I was supposed to defend today, but on monday my supervisor decided I had to rewrite the introduction...again.:-(

This of course means I have to go in and tweak the annotations on the transcriptions (there are twelve of them, starting late 19th century up through King Oliver's 1927 recording of "New Orleans Stomp") to conform with the nomenclature and conceptualizations in the new intro.

Blech. Getting too close to the wire on this. I feel like I've been wearing a hat two sizes too small for the last year.

wandering does not make you a "gypsy."
why would you call yourself

do not make you a "gypsy."
why do you call yourself after
those who have no clothes?

"gypsy" is pejorative. please don't perpetuate the stereotype. educate yourself on what it really means to be a "gypsy" in this world.
