i am afraid of the interwebs and the stuff it knows.
i got an email today from linked in suggesting i may know a list of people.
one of them was an old flame with whom i've not spoken in years and have absolutely no professional connections.

On that same note, everytime I look at your profile picture you look...familiar. Like we've met somewhere before.

I'm starting to realize though that if you live in New Orleans long enough, everybody looks familiar.

i used to hang out at the spotted cat a lot... jazz viper fan. i don't get out so much anymore, so it could be my evil twin. :)

I'm rarely in the Spotted Cat. When I play on Frenchman, it's usually at Snug Harbor, or the balcony room at the Blue Nile, we just did a CD release there for a trio project I'm in. Sometimes I play Sweet Lorraine's on St' Claude too, usually with Fred Sanders's quartet.

I was thinking more of an academic connection, like through UNO or something. I have friends in the English dept., my landlord teaches there etc.

so it could be my evil twin.

Currently trying to kill mine off.

I am in history and sociology. i was on the welcoming committee for the popular music conference this past year?
i dated a music atty from loyola a long while ago... maybe we bumped into each other through him.
other than that, i can't imagine where. i'm a hermit.

don't kill the evil twin. we need them for scapegoating purposes. really.

wandering does not make you a "gypsy."
why would you call yourself
after those who have no home?
long skirts and hoop earrings
do not make you a "gypsy."
why do you call yourself after
those who have no clothes?

"gypsy" is pejorative. please don't perpetuate the stereotype. educate yourself on what it really means to be a "gypsy" in this world.
