don't fear death

(no subject)

i guess we do what we can to remember things ;)

a little poem i wrote this morning

Mean, Green Pseudomonas aerugenosa

Contacts cause corneal ulcers and keratitis
and it can give you whirlpool folliculitis
in healthy people it is really pretty rare
but others get it in fluids and in the air
from bad equipment for respiratory therapy
or IV drug use and an immunodeficiency
long-term antibiotics for wounds and cystic fibrosis
or burns don’t stop the invasion that leads to necrosis
a quarter of all burn victims end up with fatal septicemia
10% of gram negative infections are from this bacteria
improper catheterization can get you a UTI
nosocomially it is second only to E. coli
IV needles and spinals will get you mechanically
because in hospitals it occurs so frequently
some success with quinolones and aminoglycosides
from semi-synthetic penicillin it sometimes hides
remember, it is very resistant with no vaccine
and that is what makes P. aeruginosa so mean!
