friday five
1. What's the last place you traveled to, outside your own home state/country?
state: mississippi (woohoo!)
country: france, i think.... or kuala lumpur
2. What's the most bizarre/unusual thing that's ever happened to you while traveling?
i have to think about this one...probably because it takes a lot to surprise me and fall in my bizarre category. maybe the time i was traveling from delhi to bangalore by train. i woke up in the middle of the night and thought something was dreadfully wrong because i couldn't move at all. once my eyes had adjusted i discovered about 5 people were sitting on me. that same trip had one of the cutest events. my son was listening to his mp3 player (an oddity there) and an old turbaned man wanted to listen too. it was hilarious to watch him try to get the headphones adjusted over his turban and on to his ears. when he finally did, the look on his face was too much. nirvana or metallica, or whatever my son was listening to, was surely not his style!
3. If you could take off to anywhere, money and time being no object, where would you go?
everywhere! mostly 3rd world.
4. Do you prefer traveling by plane, train or car?
if far, by plane....get me there as fast as i can. i get stir crazy sitting still. in other countries, by train (US rail system is expensive and not nearly as fun as others) car, if i want to take my time and stop at all the historical markers :)
5. What's the next place on your list to visit?
i've been wanting to see the middle east, but every time i make plans to go the US starts jacking with them. until i can get in there, probably africa.
