Chin up, Maia!
May the cosmic cornucopia overflow with a bounty of prosperity, peace, and love for you and yours, and may the spirit of Thanks Giving prosper in your hearts and home... I've had friends visiting me here for the past two days - I cooked for them each night while they stayed here...We're all headed out to spend Thanksgiving with our families today.
Wish you were here so I could cheer you up - I'd stuff you full of all kinds of yummy food and tease and torture you mercilously with really bad jokes - a little music and dancing can work wonders too... Just think, in another few months, you'll be trekin' on a brand new, mad-capped adventure! Hang in there!

Re: Chin up, Maia!
I'm glad you had a pleasant Thanksgiving; "melancholy" moods are all too common during the holidays, especialy when you are missing people you love.
I heard a radio interview with Wangari Maathai the other day - she was discussing her memoir 'Unbowed'... she and he words reminded me of you.

Re: Chin up, Maia!
this year there was a touch of melancholy - but for reasons previously posted in my friends' only side of LJ. i guess i didn't change the mood on the public post. :)
no worries. :)
i'll have to look up Maathai. the name isn't familiar to me.

"gypsy" is pejorative. please don't perpetuate the stereotype. educate yourself on what it really means to be a "gypsy" in this world.
