never enough...

i listen to Folk Alley at work. often i hear songs i have never before heard...this morning i heard one that brought tears to my eyes.... i had never heard of Michael Fracasso, but now i am ordering the CD with this song....

Never Enough
Big red sun is going down
pack your bags and leave this town
drive across the ponchartrain
the longest bridge
start again
never enough
never enough
of what you wanted
to feel the wind against your face
to never stay just in one place
to hear the songs of the king of soul
to have it all
and lose control
never enough
never enough
never enough
of what you wanted
sweetheart i know these things may come and go again
this time be sure
don't let them tear your heart away from you
a book of pictures
in black and white
a favorite poem
hand that writes
someone to love
who loves you back
for all you are
and all you lack
never enough
never enough
never enough
of what you wanted
sweetheart i know these things they come and go again
this time be sure don't let them tear your heart away from you
a full house with a rock and roll band
long neck beers
guitars in hand
close your eyes
clench your fist
sing the blues and all of this
never enough
never enough
never enough
of what you wanted
never enough...never enough....never enough
of what you wanted

wandering does not make you a "gypsy."
why would you call yourself
after those who have no home?
long skirts and hoop earrings
do not make you a "gypsy."
why do you call yourself after
those who have no clothes?

"gypsy" is pejorative. please don't perpetuate the stereotype. educate yourself on what it really means to be a "gypsy" in this world.
